Considerations When Buying Solar Street Light

#1 Solar Panel

Solar panels is one of most important part of the light. It’s for gathering sunlight and converting into electricity. There are, mono-crystalline & poly-crystalline, the difference is the conversion rate and efficiency of polycrystalline solar panels are low compared to monocrystalline solar panels. #2 MPPT Controller

An MPPT, or maximum power point tracker is an electronic DC to DC converter that optimizes the match between the PV panels, and the battery bank or utility grid. Simply, they convert a higher voltage DC output from solar panels down to the lower voltage needed to charge batteries. We selected good one from a number of them to guarantee our product

#3 Battery

It’s the power storage of solar street lights. It stores electricity during the daytime from the panel. Battery capacity plays a vital role in the life span of the light, so considering what type of battery to choose is crucial. Among the battery types, lithium-ion batteries are the most preferred nowadays due to their compact size, eco-friendly features, we choose the long time life one to make sure it suits well for the light.

#4 PIR Motion Sensor

With infrared human motion sensor, fixture turns on at night and turn off at dawn automatically. When the proximity sensor registers a walker or a cyclist, it immediately changes to 100% or 60% of maximum luminosity. When a walker or a biker leave the range of the sensor, the luminaire switches to lower power after some time.

#5 LED Module

The LED we are using is 5050 high efficiency , it can reach 210 lumen each watt. Working time is 100000Hours. Color temperature can be 3000K to 6000K. it has Type II / Type III / Type IV / Type V beam angle for options.

What's the Working Mode?

Dusk to Dawn Mode

The fixture will automatically turn on from dusk to dawn. When the solar panel voltage is lower than 5v, go to dusk, it turn on the LED lights. And When dawn and solar panel voltage is higher than 5V, it will turn off the LED light.

Time Control Mode

The light output can be controlled based on time schedule, such as:
First 4 hours 100% light output
Rest 8 hours 60% light output
Each time schedule and dim can be setting according to demands.
With diming setting, it is an efficient way to save energy, and keep the lamp working in best power and time.

Motion Sensor Mode

When triggered by motion, the light output will increase; the light output will revert to former level if the motion moved.

All In One Solar Street light without cable connection to the electrical grid, so it’s easy to install.

Step 1, take out the lamp from the packing.

Step 2, simply place the LED lamp onto the pole, adjust the direction

Step 3, screw with the M8 Cup head hex socket screws on the tube of support base.

Step 4, tighten with a wrench, make the light firmly fixed on the light pole.

Lower Operation Cost: It is less expensive to operate a solar powered street light than a traditional street light.

Compact Design: Our design and technology implementation have been driven by our desire to eliminate the need for bulky external battery boxes and external solar panels and achieve All in One Solar Powered Street Light.

Reduced Damage/Theft: By locating directly on the light fixture and placing the battery within, the risk of damage, theft or tampering is greatly reduced. There are no wires in the street pole, which means that the wire itself (which exists in regular street lights) can’t be stolen and sold for scrap.

Ruggedized Technology: Require less maintenance and reduced parts replacement due to initially incorporating higher quality components.

Insect Swarms: The solar powered street light uses LED lighting which does not produce Infrared light, and therefore will not attract insects.

Improved Safety: The solar powered street light does not require connection to an electrical grid. It is safer and easier to install. In the event of a power outage, the light remains on. This reduces the chance of accidents and the constant light deters theft/vandalism.

Battery is being charged through solar panel in ca.7-10h, during the day.
As soon as the integrated dusk sensor registers that it is getting dark, the luminaire turns on automatically, and shines with 10% of the maximal output. It shines under the control of the chosen operation mode.
When the proximity sensor registers a walker or a cyclist, it immediately changes to 100% or 60% of maximum luminosity. When a walker or a biker leave the range of the sensor, the luminaire switches to lower power after some time.
That is how we achieve maximum conservation of energy, and ensure a long luminous output, even if the weather is bad for 7+ days.
Battery gets almost never fully discharged, and it achieves a lifespan of ca. 7 years.
When the battery is fully charged, the luminaire will shine even if it does not charge during the day, for ca. 3 days with normal performance.

It can reach 210 lumen per watt.
